Re: Budget bike battle: '06 R1 Vs K6

just watched episode 3.
Not too sure bout their new bike shop set up. Very darkly lit set up. Suppose it's all the craze.

Have to say, these guys seem down to earth & don't hold back with excuses etc.

Can't wait till they get on the road with their mechanic.

Roll on next episode

Yep. And it can now be yours for 3995!

Dying to see them 'get the show on the road' now. Can you imagine what the bill so far for an ordinary punter would be on the Suzuki? JHS are no eejits either, they're very well established and experienced.

Looking forward to this. I would have zero confidence in the GSXR though.
Heart would be in your mouth with every little hiccup or bit of hesitance from it.
Fair play if it does make it to Benidorm.
No mirrors or sidestand will be a right pain in the bollox too.

I'd be inclined to say the opposite, it's had everything looked at at least twice when they were trying to find the issue including all the sensors etc, and would have had engine torn apart when they did the timing chain so would have had a good look at it's insides. Thing to worry about alright would be if stuff wasn't put back together properly / something forgotten but I believe jhs have a fairly good reputation so I'd imagine it's solid.

Totally agree with you on JHS workmanship
When I lose faith in a bike it'll always be at the back of mind
that it is going to let me down though. It has had a lot of work
but is still a 64000 mile bike that is a bit of a Triggers Brush.

I'm curious about the missing headlight. Are they gonna fit one? Presumably the loom has the required fittings to accommodate it. I know that in the UK you can get a,daytime MOT' but surely they're not going to try a Euro trip without lights and indicators or was that covered in an earlier video that I missed?

I don't believe they're going to fit it as per video BvG keeps saying so but they might have to in the end. Can't believe a stretched chain would cause that much of an issue.

Yeah. Seems like the guy from JHS is pointing the finger at the use of a 'manual' cam chain tensioner rather than the factory fitted one?

No way in hell would I ride a bike on the road without some lights, SMIDSY waiting to happen..

The gsxr will get impounded in France, good luck trying to explain a daytime mot to them baguette eating police, pure stupidity not putting the road fairings on her especially when he had the full set. + it looks like a crashed bike with the different colour tank. The r1 looks well in fairness

So baldy dude spends months and stack of money trying to get his bike to run right but neglects to fit headlights or a side stand. Que lots of top gear style japery having to get baron von g to hold it up for him when he refuels and having to find a hotel before it gets dark.
Still always a good watch, ive got feck all else to do anyway...

This new bbb seems to be trying too hard to improve the footage, the back and forth camera is annoying as fuck when they are having a conversation, must be a fucker to piece together and it takes away from it in my opinion. Drone footage aswell , it's gone a bit too top gear alright
