Thanks for moving that Admin

European Health Insurance Card, EHIC http://www.ehic.ie/
You can get a temporary card a day or two before you leave, this will last one month
The card when it arrives lasts for 4 years

Same in Slovakia, shit roads with a lot of potholes, but amazing scenery on the other hand

Zero tolerance for drink driving, same for speeding, and police checks every few km's.Cops usually hide themselves good so you won't get a chance to see them from a mile distance like you do in here

Bail bond if going to Spain etc.

Most travel insurance policies don't cover accidents on bikes so check before you go.

Re: Going abroad, what you need, documents etc

Depends on why are you going abroad doesn'it

Passport for Irish, ID /not a driving licence/ for the continental ones gets you anywhere in the hatred EU

If you are going to see girls in Russia, you might need a visa and some condoms as that health insurance is useless for that type of disease

Thing is you don't need loads of cash. touring europe on the bike is way cheaper than you'd think. Campsites (proper ones) from a tenner a night, what you save on even the cheapest hotel pays for fuel. Just bring documents mentioned before and perhaps email scanned copies to a hotmail account or similar so you can access them from abroad if necessary. Or as one man once said "all you need for a week away on the bike is 7 pairs of socks, 7 pairs of jocks and a credit card"
