Fuel injection is a great there's no doubt about it but it takes alot of the thought process away from gettin a bike runnin to the best of its ability.obviously it's dead handy to upload or create a new map and have your fueling sorted in a matter of minutes but it just takes away from the mechanical side of things for me. Anyone thats heard a set of free breathing flatslides clattering on tickover would agree they sound the fuckin business.i just got a set of R1 carbs im going to try graft onto the Hawk,a tall order but ill give it a fair go,handy to have the reference here for that too

Re: jet referance thread, dynojet-mikuni-kehin conversion charts

chopper,
i am working on a bike with a tuned cbr400 lump and dynojet kit at present and i presume that means if i use standard keihins instead of the dynojet mains i have to go by your chart, otherwise according to this i am bloody way off?
what is a keihin 124 equal to a dynojet main?116?cheers

Hiya chopper, had a quick scan on here but nothing thats relevant. N11 said u might be able to help

I had a look at the back of my haynes and I think I might need to clean my Carb.

I'm losing power in high gears and and to be honest its like driving a 125 cruiser even in lower gears. not very safe.

Anyways I'm going to try my hand and cleaning it tonight(virgin) and just wondering if theres any advice. Dont have the mula to leave in anywhere so got get this fixed myself, also want to know and fix stuff myself.

ok well sparks are fine and filter is still as new?

could be going down onto 1 cyl. ride it and then chuck water on the downpipes while its still hot, see if one pipe dries quicker than the other.

Re: jet referance thread, dynojet-mikuni-kehin conversion charts

ok, well its powerless in every gear not just the high ones, sorry mis-diagnoasis earlier, she skips up the revs when I hit the throttle by abou 1-2ooo rpm's with no acceleration and then the needle skips back down to wherever it was, really struggling to get 60mph out of it, dangerous on M50,
chucked the water on the pipes this morning and 1 dried slightly quicker than the other one.

Does changing out & setting your jets etc take long, once you have the carbs out?
