..does anyone bother anymore....??
I've been more than suprised at the lack of interest on here lately..is it an age thing or has it just become boring..i.e JR and Marquez winning all the time....?

Majority of the guys i meet or hang around with dont bother...not now or ever......I'll watch all the racing, even the Aussie and American superbikes....

Any thoughts or opinions lads....??

Anyone any experience of these? Nearly time for new tyres.

Have Angel GT's on & have to say well impressed with these. Have 7k on rear & probably another 1k left, compared to 3.2k from previous tyres.

Might just replace with same, but always curious as to what's out there.

» Alpinestars Super Touring GoreTex Boots AS NEW
Aug 01, 2020 - 7:04 PM - by pedrosixfour
Have a pair of these available in size 11

They're about the best you can get in a sport/touring boot.

I wore them around the house for an hour the day I got them.

The only reason I never used them properly was because I ended up with a pair of Doc Maarten motorcycle boots that better suited my needs. (Standing in a field with a flagon of Linden Village in hand)

» MotoGP 2020: Three remaining races outside of Europe cancelled
Jul 31, 2020 - 2:00 PM - by Admin
MotoGP has cancelled the remaining 2020 races scheduled to take place outside of Europe because of Covid-19.

The three races in Argentina, Thailand and Malaysia had initially been postponed, but MotoGP confirmed on Friday that they will now be scrapped.

Instead, a season-ending race in Europe on 2 November has been announced, at a location to be revealed next month.

It means the championship will include a total of 15 races all taking place in Europe, instead of the 20 planned.

Both races held at the Jerez circuit in Andalusia since the season began in July have been won by... [Read More]

» Mondello Training Day
Jul 30, 2020 - 4:16 PM - by pedrosixfour
Had the Rex up at Mondello yesterday for our first track (training) day.

All in all, a great day. I didn't shower myself in glory during most of the morning's paddock-based drill exercises (slow circles, figure of eights and slaloms) but I managed to wobble through most of it. Paddy's day was the last time I was out on the damn thing so it was all a bit strange to me after the kicked-back Raider I'd been favouring since it landed in March. I kept throwing my legs forward in search of the foot pegs on the ZRX, I must've looked like a prat!

The braking exercise was less of a chore, just bring the big girl to a smart stop, within the outlined area, to proceed to the next round. I'd flushed out the brake fluid in the Tokico sixes the night before and had... [Read More]

The IMA Demands Inclusion Of Motorcycles In Irish Transport Policy

» 07 Yamaha R1 - Rough Idle
Jul 30, 2020 - 2:02 PM - by dukeboy2
I have a 2007 Yamaha R1 and the idle has gone pretty crappy after a recent track day.

The bike runs perfectly above about 3,000 RPM.

At idle though it's pretty rough. When it's cold the idle is a little higher and sounds perfect. Then when it warms up a bit it starts to idle low and rough to the point of nearly stalling. Also, it's a little sluggish in 1st gear up to about 3,000 RPM. After that it's perfect.

It has an akrapovic exhaust, exup valve is removed, 02 sensor still in. I've had this bike for years with the same setup and the idle has always been fine up until now. It just developed this problem in the last month.

Stuff I've tried.

1. I changed all the plugs. No change.
2. I changed the O2... [Read More]

» Bike Insurance
Jul 29, 2020 - 9:25 PM - by Robbie N
Hi there,
I have a couple of bikes in Belgium and insure and run them there. I just bought a 42 year old DT 175 here in Ireland, to mess around on here in Ireland when I am here. Who should I try for Insurance? Carole Nash has quoted €323 for Comprehensive, €272 for thiird party fire and theft and €280 third party? There is no option to suspend for when I am not here. Is this the best going, are there other options for vintage bikes, or options to suspend as in reality, I will be using it very little over here?

Thanks for any advise,

» Recommendations for textile jacket
Jul 28, 2020 - 9:09 AM - by eirehead
Hey guys, I currently wear an RST Paragon jacket (the original one, so it's about 10 years old). Still a nice jacket which fits well and is well featured but after getting the waterproof zip replaced, it's leaking like a colander. Ps, don't bring bike gear to The ZipYard!

I'm looking for recommendations for a new jacket. Something around the 150-200 mark preferably as the now discontinued Paragon 5 is going for around this and I'll probably pick one of those up if available. I'd be looking for decent waterproofing and a removable thermal liner and venting for all year round use. Thanks.

What do people think of these sites ?

Some nice toys, tickets seem to sell out fast.
Hearing stories of people who know of people etc that have won more than once, don't know anyone first hand though

Lowest odds seem to be around 800:1 (0.125%) going up to 20000:1

Nice buildbase gsxr on the Ni site last week

Any winners here?

I know there's a few on here that are into 3D printing and wonder if they might be able to answers a 3D printing related question.

I am left handed, and also fly flight sims. Vorpil are a company that produce high quality HOTAS joystick and throttle systems.
When I found out they produce a left handed version for their joystick I got fairly excited until I found out they do not do a left handed version of the throttle unit.

» Miniature Terminals-Where sells them
Jul 26, 2020 - 9:26 PM - by scudster
I’m trying to source small uninsulated terminals for the Blackbird. More specifically the female terminals that are in the hidden earth junction plug on the loom. I initially thought they were regular 2.8mm but they’re a little smaller.
Have a charging issue and found some corroded grounding terminals and wiring that certainly isn’t helping and needs replacing.

» electric motorbike insurers??
Jul 26, 2020 - 8:27 PM - by Frog
Have any of you insured an electric motorbike?
If so what company did you go with?
I am buying a Zero SRF electric motorbike. I rang my insurance broker last week to add it to my policy and they haven't got back to me since.
I use Carol Nash and just presumed that they would be a bit more efficient.
