» Lorenzo a Transvestite ?
Nov 14, 2019 - 12:42 PM - by PJ
Three-time MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo appears likely to announce later today that he is infact a transvestite.

Series promoter Dorna issued a communique on Thursday morning when Jorge, heavily intoxicated, was awoken in a public square surrounded by police, crude implements and discarded bottles of vodka and promptly escorted to the MotoGP paddock while dressed up as a woman, stating that an exceptional press conference is to be held at Valencia with Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, and has been scheduled for 3pm local time today.

A similar press conference was held for Dani Pedrosa at the Sachsenring last year when the long-time Honda rider announced that he was to retire and pursue a more lucrative career in the midget porn industry.

» Peter Hickman claims provisional pole for 53rd Macau GP
Nov 14, 2019 - 11:00 AM - by Admin
Peter Hickman claimed provisional pole for Saturday’s Suncity Group 53rd Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix with a dominant display on Thursday.

Hickman, who is seeking his fourth victory in the prestigious race in southern China, posted the fastest lap so far in the afternoon qualifying session.

The MGM by Bathams BMW rider lapped the 3.8-mile Guia course in 2m 25.100s, which put him 1.7 seconds clear of team-mate Michael Rutter on the Honda RC213V-S.

Hickman began the day in the same vein as he led the way in free practice by one second from Rutter.

John McGuinness maintained his impressive... [Read More]

» The story of William and Michael Dunlop's venture to Macau
Nov 11, 2019 - 4:10 PM - by Admin
Eight years ago, revered road racing brothers William and Michael Dunlop retraced their father Robertís footsteps as they made their first and only appearance at the Macau Grand Prix in southern China.

Robert became the sole member of the legendary Dunlop dynasty to win the prestigious race in 1989 on the PJ OíKane (Garvagh) Honda RC30, when he beat Phillip McCallen and Steve Hislop, who were also riding the iconic Honda machines.

The Ballymoney man had finished on the rostrum the previous year in 1988, when flamboyant American Grand Prix star Kevin Schwantz famously clinched victory at his first attempt on the... [Read More]

» Enniskillen Road Races "no longer feasible"
Nov 08, 2019 - 10:51 AM - by Admin
The organisers of the Enniskillen Road Races say it is “no longer feasible” to run the event in 2020.

The Irish National meeting returned to the calendar for the first time in 66 years in 2018 at the Arney circuit in Fermanagh.

However, the Enniskillen Club says a number of factors have led to the decision not to stage the race for a third consecutive year, including rising costs, a lack of financial support from fans attending the race and ongoing roadworks.

The prospect of running the event on a new course in Fermanagh in the future is now being looked into.

A statement issued on... [Read More]

» Where does it stop?
Nov 07, 2019 - 10:52 PM - by R.M
It seems year after year bike manufacturers keep increasing HP & Torque while reducing weight of the machine.

With each of these improvements, more rider aids need to be added to keep the rider safe.

Question is....how far can they go? How far do we want them to go?

Do you want a 500hp machine that takes 10 mins at start up to configure ride preferences or do you want a 180hp get on & ride machine where you control all external oddities?

» Ulster Grand Prix: Future of international road race 'in real and imminent danger'
Nov 07, 2019 - 7:40 AM - by Admin
The future of the Ulster Grand Prix international road race is in jeopardy because of serious financial problems.

The Dundrod and District Club explained in a statement that there is a "real and imminent danger" of the event disappearing from the racing calendar.

The club say a severe weather warning issued for Saturday race day in August led to a much reduced crowd and income.

An urgent review is being carried out to assess the viability of running the race meeting in 2020.

Professional advice has been sought by the club with respect to the future running of the event, together with the options available for dealing with the existing financial liabilities.

Some very nice shiny things appearing at the show. It's looking like 2020 will be a very interesting year for bikes with multiple new models from the ground up coming from most of the top marques. Even some not very Harley Harleys.

Personally Really interested to see how the 890 duke R fares and especially the RS660.

Looks like it might be a more fun and usable option for the road with the 270 crank parallel twin over the likes of an R6 or 636 yet still pack enough power for most, hopefully it might bridge the gap between the likes of a 636 and ninja 650.

» Stator issue/repair needed
Nov 03, 2019 - 10:05 PM - by Honda boi
Well lads.
I've an issue with the charging system on the gsx 1400.
Bike would struggle to start and most of the time would need to use the booster pack on it.battery was only a year old .
So I recharged the battery ,read 12.7v so all good.
Voltage at idle eventually got to 13v but when I increased the rpm the voltage dropped.
So I tested the rectifier and all diodes tested fine.
Tested the stator winding resistance and all in spec of the Haynes manual.
But when I tested the AC of each winding from the stator at 5krpm , I was only getting 45volts instead of a stated 60v needed in the manual.
Does this explain the crappy charging system and why the volts decrease with increased rpm?
Is there somewhere to rewind these? Preferably... [Read More]

» gsxr valve stem damage cause?
Nov 01, 2019 - 10:29 PM - by sharpbikes
HI Guys, currently working on a gsxr 750 and have found an odd problem on the engine, upon looking down the intakes i noticed what looked like notching on a valve and decided to instigate, i found 6 of 8 intake valves are scored around the valve, looks to me like someone turned it in a drill against a file. two valves are unharmed and they oddly both share a port with a damaged valve so im unsure of the cause,

The head will be replaced anyhow but id like to find out what caused this issue, i have attached an image for anyone who thinks they may have an idea. i would have assumed guides but its too low on the stem.
